FitQ (hereinafter referred to as “we”, “application”, “app”, or “the app”) takes your privacy seriously and is committed to protecting your health and personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains how information is accessed, processed, used, and protected when you use FitQ to sync supported fitness and health data between Fitbit and Apple Health.

Information We Access

Fitbit Data

When you connect your Fitbit account, FitQ may access supported fitness and wellness information that you authorize, such as:

  • Steps
  • Distance
  • Active energy and calories
  • Activity and workout data
  • Sleep data
  • Heart rate data
  • Other supported health and fitness metrics

FitQ accesses only the data required to provide the syncing features you choose to use.
 

Apple Health Data

FitQ integrates with Apple Health through HealthKit.

The app may request permission to write supported Fitbit data to Apple Health and, where required for app functionality, read specific health data types.

Access to Apple Health data is controlled by you through Apple's Health permissions. FitQ cannot access a HealthKit data type unless you explicitly grant permission.
 

How We Use Health Data

Health and fitness information accessed by FitQ is used solely to provide app functionality, including:

  • Syncing supported Fitbit data to Apple Health
  • Importing historical fitness data
  • Preventing unnecessary duplicate records
  • Displaying sync status and history
  • Managing and troubleshooting data synchronization

Health data is not used for advertising, marketing, profiling, or targeted advertising.

FitQ does not sell, rent, or trade health information.
 

Fitbit Account & Authorization

FitQ may require you to connect your Fitbit account to access fitness data.

Authentication is performed using Fitbit's authorization system. FitQ does not collect or store your Fitbit password.

You control which permissions are granted and may revoke FitQ's access through your Fitbit account settings where supported.
 

HealthKit

FitQ uses Apple's HealthKit APIs to transfer supported health and fitness information to Apple Health.

FitQ does not use information obtained through HealthKit for advertising, marketing, data mining, or other purposes unrelated to health and fitness functionality.

HealthKit information is handled in accordance with Apple's applicable requirements.

You can review or revoke FitQ's Apple Health permissions at any time through your device's Health or Settings app.
 

Data Storage and Retention

FitQ may store limited information locally on your device that is necessary to provide syncing functionality, such as:

  • Sync preferences
  • Last sync information
  • Sync history
  • App settings
  • Information needed to prevent duplicate synchronization

Health and fitness data is not stored on our own external servers unless explicitly required for a feature and disclosed to you.

Removing the app may remove locally stored FitQ data. Information already written to Apple Health remains subject to Apple Health's data management controls.
 

Data Sharing

FitQ does not sell or rent your health or personal information.

Health and fitness information is transferred only as necessary to provide the functionality requested by the user, including communication with Fitbit and Apple Health.

We do not share HealthKit data with advertising platforms, data brokers, or marketing services.
 

Analytics and Diagnostic Information

FitQ may use analytics and crash-reporting services to understand app performance and diagnose technical issues.

Such services may receive limited technical information, such as:

  • Device model
  • Operating system version
  • App version
  • Crash information
  • Performance information
  • General feature usage

HealthKit data and individual health metrics are not sent to analytics or advertising services.
 

Purchases and Subscriptions

FitQ may offer optional subscriptions or in-app purchases.

Payments are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system. FitQ does not directly collect or store your payment card information.

Apple may provide limited transaction information, such as subscription status or purchase confirmation, to enable premium features.
 

Device Permissions

Apple Health

Permission is requested only for health and fitness data types necessary for the syncing functionality selected by the user.
 

Notifications

FitQ may request notification permission to provide optional sync reminders or status updates.

Permissions can be reviewed or changed at any time through your device settings.
 

Your Choices and Control

You remain in control of your health information.

You may:

  • Choose which Apple Health permissions to grant
  • Revoke Apple Health permissions at any time
  • Disconnect your Fitbit account
  • Control the Fitbit permissions granted to FitQ
  • Stop syncing selected data types
  • Uninstall FitQ to stop use of the app

Revoking certain permissions may prevent some syncing features from functioning.
 

Third-Party Services

FitQ may interact with services provided by:

  • Fitbit
  • Apple Health / HealthKit
  • Apple In-App Purchase
  • Analytics and crash-reporting providers, where applicable

These services operate according to their own privacy policies and terms.

FitQ is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Fitbit, Google, or Apple.
 

Children's Privacy

FitQ is not intended for children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
 

Security of Data

We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational safeguards to protect information handled by FitQ.

Authentication credentials, health permissions, and data transfers are handled using appropriate platform and service security mechanisms.

However, no electronic transmission or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in app functionality, third-party services, legal requirements, or privacy practices.
